Along Came A SpiderR Violence, Language Directed by: Lee Tamahori Written by: James Patterson(novel), Marc Moss Starring: Morgan Freeman, Monica Potter, Michael Wincott This is a prequel to the 1997 movie, "Kiss the Girls", and brings back detective Alex Cross. Alex must find a congressman's daughter that has been kidnapped from a private school. The good news is that Morgan freeman, reprising his role from "Kiss the Girls", is pretty much the same as when we've seen him before(as a intellectual/hard driving cop). Monica Potter, who is a great actress, just seems to be miscast as a secret service agent. Monica's sweetness and innocence, just doesn't seem right here. There is some nice mystery and thrill to this movie, and does have a nice shock ending to it-but I don't like the way the kidnapper is revealed (seen it SO many times!) Bad news-There are ALOT(six I think) of plot holes woven into this film, including a major one! Plus, since I haven't read the book, my friend told me that there is much more explanation in the book. Which I would have liked to seen more depth in the movie, including more information on the kidnapper(like in the book) In closing-While I feel this is a good mystery thriller, I really do recommend "Kiss the Girls" instead, because the numerous of plot holes and lack of depth and information, made me dislike this film. -John Steffens
