Sherlock Holmes and the Spider WomanWritten by: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Bertram Millhauser Starring: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Gale Sondergaard In this fifth installment of the Sherlock Holmes movies, released by Universal, Sherlock Holme must fake his death in order to solve a string of murders which are known as the ‘pyjama suicides’. Holmes must also cross wits with the enticing Gale Sondergaard. Watson(Nigel Bruce) is somewhat whimsical in this movie, and Sherlock(Basil Rathbone) is great as usual. A lot of Sherlock Holmes fans have said this movie is the best or one of the best of them all. Which I really can’t judge since I haven’t seen all of them-as to date of writing this review, but I would have to say it isn’t disappointing. I would recommend this movie to any Sherlock fan that hasn’t yet seen this movie. This isn’t available on video, but might soon be released on DVD-since a couple of his films have just been released.
