Legend Of The Overfiend. A legend by itself. Long regarded as the most graphic and visually disturbing Anime ever made (until the sequels came out, that is!), and for damn good reason.

Known in Japan as "UROTSUKIDOJI", Legend Of The Overfiend is a tale that is as deep as it is graphic. The storyline is very complicated, and not until the end are you ever really told why what is happening is happening.

I feel absolutely compelled to warn you that this movie *IS* graphic, with sexual encounters happening in almost every scene. In fact, to qualify this movie, it contains sex, rape, muder, and violence that is every bit as disturbing as it sounds. I cannot say whether or not this movie would work without all of the sex and violence, but it would probably work without *some* of it. It is a very disturbing vision from a very disturbed mind.

Is "Legend Of The Overfiend" any good? Yes. In fact, taken as a whole, it is very good. It is just one damn twisted cartoon. Now, Legend does come in an edited version, but all that means is that the penetration scenes have been "blurred"... (why on earth do I feel like I am writing a review for a XXX movie??)... along that line, however, even the most edited version is rated "18 and over only" and they all carry the warning "Absolutely NOT for children." Now... back to the movie...

Losely, Legend is about the unification of three parallel worlds (one of the human world, one of the demon world, and one of the half man, half beast world.) A super-being is born every 3,000 years, to unify the three worlds into one world, a world of peace, harmony, and hapiness. Once this super-being is born, our story really takes off...

"Legend Of The Overfiend" is part one of a trilogy, but that doesn't mean it can't hold it's own on it's own. No, it is no Star Wars, but it is a terrific epic. Just make damn sure you have the stomach to handle it.

"UROTSUKIDOJI - Legend Of The Overfiend" runs 108 minutes long and is rated NC-17 for adult sexual situations, rape, muder, violence, and extreme language.
